Fallout 4 Rotten Landfill

Fallout 4 Rotten Landfill

Rotten Landfill is a Junkyard Location in the Northern area of The Commonwealth. It is located to the North of Lexington, along the expressway overpass.

The Rotten Landfill is true to its namesake, containing hordes and piles of filth so high that tunnels have been burrowed into its center. A small shack stands nearby but practically empty, and there are three tunnel entrances leading into the heart of the junk pile.

The Mole Rats have made a tunnel under the landfill, which contains a toolbox and a Steamer Trunk, but an almost unending amount of them will attack you if you get to the tunnel.

A settler can usually be heard trying to fight off a horde of mole rats in vain as you approach, and will almost always die. Several Mole Rats will come up on all sides to attack as you get near.

Fallout 4 Cambridge Polymer Labs and Legendary Piezonnucleic Power Armor Chest

Cambridge Polymer Labs is a factory Location in the central area of The Commonwealth. It is located to the South of Fraternal Post 115, and West of C.I.T. Ruins.

The building has a number of rooms that lead to deadends. When first entering the labs, a robot named Molly will greet and invite you to an interview. From here, you can either follow her around to lead you towards the inner section of the lab, or go off on your own.

Most doors need to be opened through hacking terminals. Their difficulty ranges between novice and expert. If you have Nick Valentine as your companion, you can order him to hack some of the terminals. Hacking the terminals will allow you to bypass some sections of the area and allow you to save ammo and items.

Fallout 4 Sunshine Tidings Co Op

Sunshine Tidings co-op is a location appearing in Fallout 4. Its a colonization location that appears to have been a Communist settlement after the war. Their Mister Handy was "liberated" (aka: reprogrammed) from its "slavery" (aka: work) and now floats around saying "Far Out" and "Groovy". It will not attack the Sole Survivor, and you can reset Goodfeels at a Novice Hack computer terminal in the central building to set him to a guard routine.

Its a commune with many small porched houses built in a circle around one central building. To either side of the small building are furrows with dying Tato plants, implying that this was a working farm until recently. Around the central building circles Prof. Goodfeels. Prof. Goodfeels, is actually a Mr. Handy robot that has been taken and reprogrammed by Jack and Allen and can be controlled from a computer inside the building.

On the eastward side is a mess hall and bathroom stall.

Just outside the mess hall is a cooking station. Inside the central building is a workshop. Inside the central building is a chemistry station.

Fallout 4 Walden Pond

Fallout 4 Walden Pond
The Walden Pond is a location in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4.
The pond itself is small and highly irradiated (+10), with an island in the middle without obvious significance which smokes mysteriously. Up on the hill to the west, there is an automated tour box in front of a cabin that was home to Henry David Thoreau. Beyond this is a gift shop - a much larger building, which is booby-trapped with a few makeshift bombs and one of those monkeys with the clapping cymbals. Stuck to the wall by a knife is a "Note to Tweez". The note reads as follows:

Tweez, If you are reading this, then you're an idiot. this is the last time I tell you, we're locking this door. Use the entrance in the sewer pipe. Next time you forget, I'm locking your ass out permanently.

— Walter
To the east is a makeshift raider tower, also unmarked.

Fallout 4 Beantown Brewery

Fallout 4 Beantown Brewery

The Beantown Brewery is a location in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4. Its filled with raiders who (according to logs on Tower Tom's computer), kidnapped Lily Tourette and accidentally killed her after ransoming her for food. Contains a Chemistry station.

There are two entrances; one Lockpick Advanced and the other freely accessible. Both open to anterooms before the main factory floor. The unlocked door enters onto the guest entrance where a greeter's desk sits. On that terminal is instructions on giving factor tours. Behind the greeter's desk is a gift shop, where a cymbal monkey will activate if detected. There may also be a raider in this room.

Catwalks line the main factory room allowing for easy traversal around the room, making the factory floor effectively a "kill zone". Using the catwalk and going to the Northernmost side, the player will enter Tower Tom's office, which has some interesting loot. There is also an elevator to the factory floor. Tower Tom may hide in this elevator if injured, forcing the player to open the elevator to get him out. The computer in Tower Tom's office adapts to your actions in the world. If you've taken down other named Raiders (i.e Red, or Jared) then the computer will update accordingly about your actions.

There are two sets of traps: a tripwire between the elevator and the factory floor (bottom floor), and strings of cans around a Chemistry station on the factory floor.

There is also a puzzling room to the South. While hugging the south wall catwalk, there is a downward metal staircase, but also an upward concrete staircase upward. Going up, there is a room with a few Raiders and an Easy Locked Door. Opening the Easy Locked Door, the player finds a room lined with desks with computers. All computers are dead except one. This appears to have quarterly reports, all of which are corrupted except the Q4 Projections. But... (here's the weird part...) the computer appears to remember the order in which you viewed the reports. For example, if you click Q1 Data, you are returned to the previous menu, but the Exit button is replaced with a Back button. Every time you click a report except for Q4 Projections, the stack gets one deeper, indicating that there may be a code in the order that the quarterly reports are accessed.

Notable Loot

Gwinnett Brew Recipe - on the desk next to Tower Tom's computer

Picket Fences - on the floor next to the mattress in the room with Tower Tom's computer.

Fallout 4 Supply Lines and Asssigning Duties to Settlers

Fallout 4 Supply Lines and Asssigning Duties to Settlers
Assign Workers
Another important aspect of base building is making sure you have workers assigned to everything. This is extremely important because, your guard posts, and plants won’t take care of themselves. To assign a worker you’ll need to open up your building menu, and then locate the person you want to Assign. Once you locate them, choose the COMMAND option, then walk to the thing you want to assign them to and click the ASSIGN button. Now that worker will focus more on that particular thing than anything else. Remember to assign workers to your defenses, food, water, and other items to keep your settlement running smoothly.
Fallout 4 supply route setup
Setting up a supply line will cost you one settler that will from then on be dedicated to moving supplies between settlements. Open up the Workshop menu while in a settlement (hold V on the PC for example) and walk up to an unassigned settler. In the bottom of the screen you will see available commands for that settler and one of them will be Supply Line (press Q on the PC). Once you press the command a list of all available settlements will open up and you can choose which settlement you want to link to. Confirm your selection and presto – you have these connected. You can go into your Pip-Boy map and choose to show supply lines on the map (again, bottom of the screen shows available commands – one of them is Show Supply Lines).

Live Love - a hippie-ish skill mag that gives bonuses to your companions. It can be found behind the ticket counter on top of a safe. The player must pick an EXPERT door with a Red Karma indicator in it (no Karma damage seems to be taken by picking it) or there is a terminal near the train to activate protectrons which will open the door from the inside after a short time (there is a protectron inside the room that will walk out) if you cannot pick the door. Inside the room is a 2nd terminal for the protectrons so accessing it before heading down will let other units clear the enemies for you to explore the rest of the station (if put on an aggressive personality).

Fallout 4 Intro

Fallout 4 Intro

Fallout 4 is an open world action role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is the fifth major installment in the Fallout series, and was released worldwide on November 10, 2015 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

200 years after a nuclear war, Fallout 4 is set in a post-apocalyptic Boston, in which the player character emerges from an underground bunker known as a Vault. Gameplay is similar to Fallout 3. Completing quests and acquiring experience levels up the character, allowing for new abilities. With an optional first- or third-person view, players can explore Fallout 4‍ 's open world setting at will, allowing nonlinear gameplay. Additional party members can accompany the player, who are able to assist them in battles. Players have the ability to construct and deconstruct buildings and items, and use them to build a settlement, which can attract and be inhabited by non-playable characters.

Fallout 4 was rumored several times prior to the game's announcement. The game was announced on June 3, 2015, and the first gameplay footage of the game was shown at Bethesda's own conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015. The game also features full voice acting, the first in the series.

Fallout 4‍ 's gameplay is similar to that of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, the previous two main entries in the series. Returning features include a camera that can switch from first person to third person view and the ability to roam anywhere on the map. Fallout 4 is supposed to feature more appealing gameplay, a layered armor system, base-building, a dynamic dialogue system featuring 111,000 lines of dialogue, an in-depth crafting system which implements every lootable object in the game, and much more. Enemies such as mole rats, raiders, super-mutants, deathclaws, and feral ghouls return in Fallout 4, along with the companion Dogmeat, who is incapable of dying.

Players have the ability to roam anywhere on the map, or leave a conversation at any time. They have the ability to customize weapons; the game includes over 50 base guns, which can be crafted with a variety of modifications, such as barrel types and laser focus, with over 700 modifications available. Power Armor has been redesigned to be more like a vehicle than an equipable suit of armor, and can also be modified, adding items such as a jetpack or selecting separate types of armor for each part of the suit. A new feature to the series is the ability to craft and deconstruct settlements and buildings. Players can select some in-game objects and structures, and use them to freely build their own structures. In addition, the towns can be powered with working electricity, using a dynamic power line system. Merchants and non-player characters can inhabit players' towns, for which players must provide sustenance by growing food in makeshift patches and building water spouts. Players can build various defenses around their settlements, such as turrets and traps, to defend against random attacks.

When using V.A.T.S. in combat, real-time action is slowed down, and players can see the probability of hitting each body part of the enemies through percentage ratio.

The Pip-Boy, a computerized wristwatch, allows the player to access a menu with statistics, maps, data, and items. Players can find game cartridges, which can be played on the Pip-Boy. Another returning gameplay feature is the Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System (V.A.T.S.), which plays an important part in combat. While using V.A.T.S., real-time combat is slowed down, and action is played out from varying camera angles in a computer graphics version of "bullet time". Various actions cost action points, limiting the actions of each combatant during a period of time, and the player can target specific body areas for attacks to inflict specific injuries; head shots can be used for quick kills or blinding, legs can be targeted to slow enemies' movements, and opponents can be disarmed by shooting at their weapons. Unlike in previous games, in which the player had a random chance to inflict a critical hit, they can now be done at will with a button press. However, the option requires a recharge afterwards.

Fallout 4 Base Building

Fallout 4 Base Building

In Fallout 4, players have the ability to craft a new life amidst the devastated landscape. Through the Workshop feature, players who love to gather loot and scavenge for materials can put their efforts to good use by creating unique structures and settlements. For this guide, we will provide the basic instructions for building and maintaining your Fallout 4 settlements.

The Workshop - Getting Started

Early in the game, players will be tasked with creating a new home base for themselves and other survivors in the form of a settlement. Settlements can be created wherever a Workshop is located. The Workshop allows you to build and move objects throughout the area within the green Workshop boundary. In order to build, you must first have the material components needed to create desired items.

Begin by opening up the Workshop across the street from your old home. With the Workshop interface open, walk around the area where you plan to build your settlement. Objects that can either be scrapped or stored will be outlined in green, while broken objects that can only be scrapped are outlined in yellow. Scrap all the yellow items you find, and store green items that you wish to use later.

Once you have gathered a decent amount of materials, you can now begin to build. Scroll through the various tabs in the Workshop to familiarize yourself with the available items. Each object shows a list of components required to craft the object. Missing components can be tagged for search, which places a magnifying glass icon next to items that contain the missing component.

Objects can be built or placed anywhere within the Workshop boundary, as long as it is highlighted in green in the preview. If the highlight is red, you will need to adjust the position or find even ground to place the object on. If you wish to move an object after it has been placed, simply highlight and select the object to place it down again. If you decide you no longer wish to use an object, don’t scrap it, as this will yield a smaller amount of components than you used to build it. Instead, just store the item in the Workshop for future use.

Maintaining a Settlement
You can't move this Workbench, but you can move the others, like your Weapons Workbench.
You can build structures if you wish, but early in the life of your settlement your first priority is to make sure your settlers’ needs are met. Your first settlement will likely be in Sanctuary. Several survivors have settled down in this location and will ask you to help out with a few tasks, which is meant to familiarize you with the basics of settlement maintenance.

First, you must consider how many settlers have arrived to call a particular settlement home. Open up the Workshop menu and look at the top bar on the interface. This will list how many settlers are in the area, as well as several other categories that must be maintained: Food, Water, Power, Defense, Beds, and Happiness. The color of these categories determines the overall status of a given settlement. Settlement Happiness.

Maintaining a settlement comes down to making sure your settlers maintain a high Happiness rating. To do this, you must have enough beds, food, water, defense, and power based on the number of settlers in your community.

Beds
Beds are pretty straightforward. You simply need at least one bed for each settler, otherwise they might get a bit cranky. Open the Workshop and peruse the bed selection. Place down enough beds for the amount of settlers you have. Beds can be placed within existing structures, so there’s no need to waste resources building them new homes. When it’s time to sleep, the settlers will automatically occupy the beds themselves as long as they are in the settlement area. You can also rest in any bed to replenish your missing health.

Fallout 4 Sanctuary Quest

Fallout 4 Sanctuary Quest

By interacting with Sturges in Sanctuary, you'll have an excuse to learn Fallout 4's settlement gameplay. As we covered in our Beginner's Guide, building things isn't the most intuitive process. Start by going to the Workshop to enter Workshop mode. Move around the town to highlight and salvage fallen homes, leftover furniture, and other items for scrap. These will be the materials for your new structures.

Fulfill all of Sturges' settlement-building requests by building beds, water sources and a small farm to grow food. The materials for these items should come easy from salvaging the unwanted items in town. The last requested item will be a turret, the materials for which you might need to find in a couple missions outside of Sanctuary or through general exploration of the other towns and cities.

Don't hesitate to pick up everything, especially when it takes mere seconds to transport your haul to a settlement via fast travel. The requirements for fast travelling are simple: don’t exceed your carrying weight and the location has to be a place your previously visited. Take full advantage of fast travel so you can pick up and dump lots and lots of junk for scrap.

Fallout 4 Power Armor

Fallout 4 Power Armor

The T-45 power armor is located next to a crashed vertibird on the Museum of Freedom roof during the quest, When Freedom Calls.

Another set (torso, right and left leg) can be found in a train car between Drumlin Diner and the Corvega assembly plant, behind a door that can be accessed with a terminal (Advanced).

Another set (torso, right and left leg and arm) cam be found in Mass Bay medical center in the mass bay radiology room. There is an extremely powerful synth on the lobby floor.

There is a set missing one arm and the helmet in the lake directly adjacent to Covenant (to the West). The armor is underwater, next to a crashed vertibird on the northern tip of the lake. The vertibird is also mostly submerged, though the tail is visible from land.

There is a set (torso and right arm) to the east of the USAF Radar, which is east of sanctuary.

Fallout 4 Concord

Fallout 4 Concord

Concord is a town in the Commonwealth in the 23rd century. Part of the pre-War Greater Boston area, it kept its name after the Great War.

The town is a raider stronghold and is currently where Preston Garvey and his men are trapped. Centuries before the Great War, Concord and near by Lexington were the site of several battles that lead to The American Revolution. The Museum of Freedom likely described this event and welcomed tourists, as the rest of the town shows remnants of patriotic bunting, flags, and signs.
