Fallout 4 Sandy Coves Convalescent Home

Fallout 4 Sandy Coves Convalescent Home

The Sandy Coves Convalescent Home is a location in the Commonwealth in Fallout 4.

Sandy Coves Convalescent Home is a pre-War retirement home situated in Salem on the coast. Although 200 years has passed, the home still feels lively because the Mister Handies assigned to care for the elderly are still performing their duties, even though the residents have long since passed away.

The Sandy Coves Convalescent home is facing the shore. The sign of the retirement home visible and lighted by a spotlight.

The front interior of the building is a reception area with Mister Handy as a receptionist, another Mister Handy can be found patroling the halls. In the reception desk is a terminal that will open a cabinet with a syringer rifle and assortment of chems and stimpaks.

Next to the cabinet are the retirement home residents' safes. Those safes are locked and can not be lock picked. Keys for the individual safes are hidden in each resident's room. The detailed lists of hidden places for each individual key are located in the receptionist terminal with details as follows:

• Catherine, 205: By her cat bowls (Catherine's key)

• Edward, 106: Behind his typewriter Edward's safe key)

• Ethel, 203: Beneath her paintbrush (Ethel's safe key)

• Margaret, 104: Under her fertilizer (Margaret's safe key)

• Mortimer, 101: In his favorite boat model (Mortimer's safe key)

• Randall, 201: Under the mounted deer head (Randall's safe key)

Inside those safes are an assortment of medical items.

There is a specific note about Gladys's activities and entering her room using her key (given by the attendant upon entrance) will reveal that she seems to have gained her skills while serving in the military (combat knife, flag- folded and standing versions, uniform, helmet all in her room).

After venturing inside and back to reception, a group of synths will enter guns blazing. The robot attendants will try to defend the facility but will likely be overwhelmed in the process unless protected by the player character. Additionally, the synths will target and kill the "enemy presence" in the home which are the various cats (3-5 in number), again unless stopped by the player.

On the right hand side of the reception area there is also a book return machine in which to return overdue books (of which there are a few in the rooms) and spend Book return tokens.

Notable loot:

• Massachusetts Surgical Journal issue #5 (+2% damage dealt to limbs) - Behind a locked security door, behind and to the left of the front desk. Hack the reception desk terminal to open it (Novice difficulty).

• A Syringer rifle and a Pax syringe - In the same location as above.

• Medical supplies - In the resident's safes next to the locked security door.

• Four Overdue books. • One can be found in Margaret's room (room with pot plants) on top of the toilet.

• Three can be found in Edward's room (room with typewriter) on the dresser, by the skeleton on the bed and by the foot of the bed.

• Two Vault-Tec lunchboxes • One can be found in the dining area on the floor next to a skeleton on the west side of the middle table.

• Another can be found in the smaller upstairs lounge area (room with the tv, 2 couches and bowling pins) in a small box between the entrances to the room.

• Gladys's room key - Given to the player by the attendant.
